An opportunity to get hands on with this ancient material and learn some of the basics of how to shape, join and decorate with clay. No previous experience is required, just come and relax and enjoy creating some fun and practical things.

Week 1 How this stuff works. Learning how to join pieces together properly. As we are in a lovely green space, I imagine flowers and plants will come into what we are making.

Week 2 Make your own Tea Light houses / Bird Feeders

Week 3 Making your own mug / vase

Week 4 Making a miniature garden

Week 5 Making a hand made bowl

Week 6 Glazing week. You will get to colour glaze decorate your favourite pieces. This is like painting but with special paints that will go in our kiln and once heated will stay forever.

Participants may want to come in older clothing/wear non-special items.

The course will take place in or outside the polytunnel in the heart of Ross Community Gardens, please dress appropriately for the weather.

Adam is an experienced ceramics teacher who works with all ages and abilities. He recently moved to Ross-on-Wye from Brighton in Sussex where he had built up a large practice working with charities and disability stake holder groups.
